Highway Right-of-Way

One method of maintaining the guardrails, brush, and the noxious weeds is spraying with jets off of the hummer. The two pictures above show the difference between treated (left) and untreated (right) guardrails. The above picture shows a plant growth regulator           treatment 10-15 ft off the roadside.

Guardrails
Herbicides play an important role in various areas of roadside maintenance. The most important part of herbicide products is creating a safe and secure highway for the public to travel on. This can be obtained in many ways one selective herbicide usage is a growth regulator, which helps suspend the growth along the guardrails allowing for less trimming maintenance and visibility of signs.

Brush
Safety is a leading concern along our state highways and roads today. The encroachment of brush can hide road signs and limit the drivers visibility. In eliminating the brush we can allow the driver to see potential wildlife darting onto the roads before it is to late. Vegetation Control is a must to ensure safe travel for the public.

Noxious weeds
Invasive plants and weeds such as Leafy Spurge and Canada Thistle are a must to control. These invasive plants and others displace and threaten native plant species. With the help of selective herbicides that provide long-term control we can help guard our land over time.
